Desert camping at its finest, the Sonoran Desert region includes the southwestern part of Arizona and borders California and Mexico. This area is mostly defined by the vast Sonoran Desert and the lower Colorado River Basin. Campsites are primarily used by long-term RVers and those who love riding ATVs. The main towns located here are Yuma, Gila Bend, and Quartzsite.
The Bureau of Land Management administers thousands of acres of land along the Colorado River creating a Boondocker’s wonderland. Every winter, thousands of snowbirds travel to this area to enjoy the beautiful Arizona sunshine. The region is also home to theĀ Sonoran Desert andĀ Organ Pipe Cactus National Monuments.
