The Colorado River Region stretches from the Lake Mead Recreational Area located, in the northwestern part of Arizona, down to the I-10, which divides the state. To the west is the Colorado River which creates the border between Arizona and California and to the East, Rt. 93. The main towns include Kingman, Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City, and Quartzsite to the south.
This area includes hundreds of miles of beautiful shoreline beaches along the Colorado River as well as vast mountainous terrain. Campgrounds are popular among Boaters, RV Boondockers, and ATVers. Some of Arizona’s best state parks are located in this region including Lake Havasu State Park and Buckskin Mountain State Park. Also be sure to check out the Hoover Dam, the second largest dam in the United States, located on Rt. 93. Another place worth the trip is the historic living ghost town of Oatman. The most famous attractions are the town’s wild burros, which freely roam the town streets and can be hand-fed hay cubes.
